Flood of New Student Housing Coming to Downtown Athens

The east side of downtown is going to be filled with UGA students. And their cars.

University of Georgia housing may have stiff competition for residents, as new student housing complexes populate downtown Athens.

Three new housing complexes will be available for students in summer 2015. Armstrong & Dobbs, The Flats at Carrs Hill, and The Standard are three new housing developments scheduled to be built in downtown Athens.

Developer Selig plans Armstrong & Dobbs on the east end of Athens. The housing complex will feature 250 residential units, two and three bedroom apartments. The property will run through Hickory Street as a boulevard, cutting through the multimodal enter.

The Flats at Carrs Hill will offer students a taste of luxury living in Athens. The student housing complex features fully furnished one, two, three, and four bedroom apartments. Housed on Oconee Street, the residential area is conveniently located to the University of Georgia campus. The Flats at Carrs Hill will open in the summer of 2013.
