ATHICA's "Upcycle" Show Opens to Great Fanfare

UGA's Trashion Fashion Sorority Green Cup was a hit.

 

The contestants all sported fashion looks that were, well, trashy. That was the point. They were all wearing garments made out of used fabric, garbage or recycled materials.

And on Sunday at ATHICA, the young women were vying for the UGA Sorority Green Cup, sponsored by the UGA Office of Sustainability.

A trashion fashion show is but one of the many events during the Upcycle show at ATHICA, which runs through June 9. On display in the gallery is art work made of discarded materials.
