College Board Releases Data on AP Awards

Clarke County public school students do well on exams.

The Clarke County School District has 83 high school students who earned AP Scholar Awards by doing so well on Advanced Placement Exams. The College Board’s AP Programs allow students to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.

About 18 percent of the more than 1.9 million students worldwide who took AP Exams earned an AP Scholar Award.

Superintendent Philip Lanoue said he thinks the students have done so well because of the rigor of the secondary curriculum and quality instruction by the district’s teachers,. Implementing the International Baccalaureate Program in CCSD middle and high schools over the next few years.
