“Stones and Scorpions for Fish and Chips: U. S. Peacekeepers on the Oconee and Civil Rebellion in Georgia”

Beginning in 1791, federal troops were garrisoned on the Georgia borderland. Historian Steven Scurry will draw from the 18th century archives outlining this forgotten conflict. This event is free and open to the public and is cosponsored by the Athens Historical Society and the ACCL Heritage Room.
