Working for Peanuts: UGA Gets $256K for Research

The Georgia Peanut Commission donated the money for peanut-related projects.

The University of Georgia has received a sizable grant to fund peanut-related research.

The Georgia Peanut Commission has given the university $256,000 to fund various projects, such as breeding, weed control, and pest management.

The Georgia peanut crop was worth $891 million in 2012, and last year’s peanut yield was the second-highest in history.
