The mission of the Athens GA Half Marathon is to raise awareness and funding for ATHFest, a non-profit organization dedicated to music and arts education in Athens.
The starting line will be at the corner of South Thomas and Mitchell Streets and will wind through the UGA campus, past Sanford Stadium. The course will then follow the North Oconee River and run through several of Athens in-town neighborhoods before heading back down to the river and following the North Oconee River Greenway. The downhill finish is dramatic and runners will race past the historic Georgia Theatre on West Clayton Street downtown. Spectators will be along the course to cheer you along.
Online registration will end on October 14, but you can register in-person until Friday, October 21, at the New Balance Athens Store at 1850 Epps Bridge Pkwy #101. Call 706-552-3668 for directions or information.

There will be an opportunity for late registration at the Health and Fitness Expo, Saturday, October 22, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express.
