Searching for Your Family Members
This is the first in a series of five and covers the basics for genealogy research, such as how to fill out and use pedigree charts, family group sheets and family trees; the role of vital records, federal census records, and newspapers to piecing together a family history; how to use family-kept records and papers, such as scrapbooks, Bibles, letters, etc.; and the importance of interviewing not just relatives, but friends and neighbors to fill out the leaves on your family tree.
This class is free for CAL members. Pre-registration is required. Call (706) 549-4850 to sign up for the class and to sign up for CAL (Center for Active Learning). CAL requires a $25 annual membership fee.
