Longtime Athens-Oconee Gymnastics Coach Now at West Virginia University

Hundreds of young women across Clarke and Oconee counties will remember Bridget Boyd, who coached gymnastics for years at , Classic City Gymnastics Academy and .

Now, Miss Bridget is an assistant gymnastics coach at West Viriginia University. She was recently profiled on the team's website.

"I like to keep the gym fun," Boyd said in the profile. "I do games, but I put pressure on the girls with each activity."

About coaching in her first collegiate meet on Jan. 8, she said: "I’ve always been more nervous as a coach than I was when I competed gymnastics. This year will be different because I won’t be overseeing all four events like I did during club meets; I don’t have to worry as much about the other three events, but my event has to do well."
