Grady College Hosts Training Seminar

Student journalists got to practice their reporting skills as the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication hosted a simulated news event as part of a management seminar for college newspaper editors.

The simulated event included a van accident near Reed Plaza. Grady’s Public Affairs Division collaborated with the university’s Office of Preparedness, UGA Police Department, and Campus Transit.

Participants wrote and filed stories from the scene and submitted them to Grady College faculty to be critiqued.

The simulation is part of Grady’s 18th annual Management Seminar for College News Editors, sponsored by the Cox Institute for Newspaper Management Studies.

The program invites to Athens 64 college editors from 27 states and the District of Columbia.
