an October staging of “Evil Dead, the Musical.” Get yourself over to Grady Avenue, a 1-minute acapella number in hand, and prepare to sing.

Rain, schmain. Don’t miss Tuesday’s Grogus concert at the State Botanical Garden at 7pm. It's part of the garden's Sunflower Series. You can enjoy a picnic as you listen to jazz standards, done right, in a variety of ways. If it rains (and it will, of course), the concert will move from the lawn to the conservatory, so don't fear.
On Thursday, come to Homewood Hills Shopping Center for the preview sale of books to benefit Books for Keeps. A $10 donation lets you in early, starting at 5pm The sale continues through the weekend, so get out there and get some books!
We start the Darius Goes West Weekend Celebration on Thursday with a game of Texas Hold ‘Em at the Rail on Mitchell Bridge Road. $40 gets you a seat at the table and a chance to win a casino package. The money raised goes to support research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Starting Friday and continuing through Sunday, the Athens Choral Society presents “Postcards from the Road” at the Seney Stovall Chapel. Each of the four performances is $12 and includes favorite songs from the 1940s to the 1970s. .
On Saturday, 15 different student groups at the University of Georgia will be giving back to the Athens Community with the Dawg Day of Service. They will be participating in 18 different projects. If you see these students out working, or if you are among them, give them or yourself a thumbs up.
