The Athens Clarke County Landfill is a Subtitle D landfill, which makes it an up-to-date facility. The landfill includes 400 acres. There's enough remaining space to handle the community's garbage for another 10 years. The landfill is also site of the county's composting project.

- Services: $1.50/bag for residential garbage. $18 per ton with a $5 minimum for residential leaves and limbs; electronics recycling is free; there are fees for other items, such as tires, paint and propane tanks. ;
