Burglar Steals Resident's Gun, Shoes

An Athens man reported that his camera, gun and shoes were stolen from his residence on Reed Street Monday, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police report. The man told police that when he came back to the house around noon, he found his bedroom window broken and the back door unlocked. The burglar had taken three pairs of his shoes; his girlfriend's engagement ring, necklace and earrings; his Smith and Wesson gun; and his digital Sanyo Camera. He also told police he thinks the person responsible for the burglary is a juvenile who goes by the name "Big Man." The investigation is ongoing.
