Make 2013 your year to become more active. Try using a device like Fitbit to track your activity (steps, miles, calories burned), and sleep patterns. Research has shown, over and over again, that if we keep track of what we are doing, we'll be more likely to make lasting changes. You don't have to use high tech gadgets, but many people seem to enjoy using something they can sync with their phones and laptops. The Fitbit will sync with myfitnesspal (my personal favorite), which is a great cell phone app that helps you keep track of your food intake based upon your caloric goals. It's never too late to join forces with reality and fight to reclaim your Inner Goddess.
Unlike EL James’ heroine (?), Anastasia Steele, in the current best seller, Fifty Shades of Grey, I don’t have an Inner Goddess. Mine was brutally slain years ago by my Inner Monster (IM) – who I call, for lack of a better name – Metabolism. As IM began to take over my person, I gradually became lethargic, sedentary and eventually FAT! I’m on a quest now to turn that monster back into an Inner Goddess, and in the coming months, I want to share with you my journey to reclaim my body, my sprit and my life. Fat. OK; I'll enter again since it went away...YES, YES I'm on your cheering team and am so proud of you. You inspire me tremendously as I, too, have gained weight sitting around watching Rob be sick for the last few years, so I totally understand about Fox News and the Barbie babes, cooking, eating, etc. Hang in there!!   more ›
