Funeral Arrangements Announced for Slain ACCPD Officer
Athens-Clarke County Senior Police Officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian, 34, will be laid to rest on Sunday, March 27 at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has announced funeral arrangements for Senior Police Officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian, who was shot to death on March 22. He had been employed with the police department since December 2002. Visitation will start at 4 p.m. and will continue as long as necessary to accommodate visitors on Saturday, March 26 at Bernstein Funeral Home on 3195 Atlanta Hwy in Athens. The funeral service will be on Sunday, March 27 at 2 p.m. at the Classic Center located at 300 N Thomas St in Athens. The service is expected to last approximately one hour.
