Authorities Wednesday afternoon were searching a section of Bogart for a suspect originally thought to have been involved in a home invasion. Athens-Clarke County Police later clarified, according to the Athens Banner-Herald, that a man kicked in a door to a residence in the area of Luke Road off of Fowler Mill Road, realized someone was home, and ran. Hilda Sorrow, ACCPD public information assistant, said a resident of the home had been sleeping around 1:10 p.m. when he heard a noise. The resident awoke to find a man standing in the hallway, so he grabbed a handgun and pointed it at the intruder, Sorrow said. Upon seeing the victim and the gun, the man fled. The Athens Clarke County Police are offering a $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of two Hispanic men accused of being involved in a home invasion. The victim, an 89-year-old woman who was home alone, was tied up and robbed, according to an ACCPD press release. A Facebook post by the police says: On 10/29/2012 at about 11:40 am, officers responded to a home invasion robbery in the 4000 block of Lexington Road. The victim, an 89 year old female, reported that two suspects came and knocked on her door. When she opened the door, the suspects forced their way in. Oconee County Sheriff's Deputies discovered a different kind of Easter service early April 8 when they broke up an underage alcohol party. Nine people at a Dogwood Hill residence were cited for underage drinking. Another man wouldn't stay put with his alcohol, snatching $20 worth of beer in the Dacula Ingles and getting away with it. But the guy who stuffed a bottle of wine down his pants and tried to walk out of the Oconee County Walmart got caught. In Winder, a man told police his neighbor got away with $25 worth of meat from his refrigerator after he let her in to use the bathroom. Ham, pork chops and bacon were reported missing. A home invasion occurred Thursday, July 7, at 105 Citation Court. Three victims reported that three masked men forcibly entered the residence with guns demanding money. When one of the victims said they had no money, one of the suspects struck a victim with a gun on the hand. Another victim was struck on the head before the intruders left. Members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 347 Sunset Drive on July 6, seizing a quantity of hydrocodone and amphetamine pills, marijuana plants, a handgun and ammunition.
