Kathryn Lookofsky Resigns as Director of the Athens Downtown Development Authority

Her resignation takes effect on June 30, 2013.

  Kathryn Lookofsky, who has been the director of the Athens Downtown Development Authority for almost seven years, offered her resignation to the ADDA Board of Directors on Tuesday. She will leave on June 30, when her current contract expires. Laura Miller, the director of parking services for the ADDA, has also resigned. She could not be reached for comment on Wednesday. Lookofsky's resignation came after a closed door meeting Tuesday morning, from which the public was excluded, to discuss personnel matters. The Georgia Open Meetings Act allows for such exemptions. Athens Downtown Development Authority to Discuss City Master Plan with UGA's College of Environment and Design

The Athens Downtown Development Authority will consider proposals for the Athens, Ga. master plan June 20 with officials at the University of Georgia's College of Environment and Design.

Athens Downtown Development Authority members will consider proposals for downtown's master plan from the University of Georgia's College of Environment and Design during a meeting on June 20.  The authority plans to meet with Jack Crowley, head of the master's program at the College of Environment and Design, and Daniel Nadenicek, dean of the college.  ADDA member and Athens-Clarke County Commissioner Mike Hamby said a master plan for the city was currently in the development stage. More details will be available on the project after the upcoming meeting.
