A woman tried to snatch another woman's purse at the Alps Road Kroger.

At 4:00pm, April 26, a woman from Lake Wellbrook Drive was inside Kroger at 191 Alps Road. While shopping, she was approached by a white female who attempted to take her purse. The Oconee County woman was able to wrestle the purse away from the suspect. She then notified store employees. The suspect is described as a white female, brown hair (pulled back in a pony-tail), wearing sunglasses on her head, a black hooded shirt with a white shirt underneath, jeans and black flip-flops. The suspect was also described by one witness as having a large “mole” on her chin. She was last seen walking towards St. Mary’s Hospital from Kroger.

Pecans are in the cake but not on the label.
The Kroger Co. Atlanta Division said today it is recalling select in-store made Bakery Mardi Gras King Cake Cinnamon sold in 4 states because it may contain pecans not listed on the label. Customers who purchased the product between December 30, 2012 and February 4, 2013, should return the product to stores for a full refund or replacement. People who are allergic to pecans could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. For consumers who are not allergic to pecans, there is no safety issue with the product. Athens, Ga., grocery bagger prepares for competition in the Kroger's Bag Off.
His years on the football field and the basketball court at Clarke Central have served Troy Yerby III well. The recent graduate will compete on Wednesday in the Statewide Division Championship in Dacula, and he’ll be using his hand-and-eye coordination like crazy, to bag grocers fast and well. He’s hoping to advance to the next stage and represent Kroger at the Georgia Food Industry Association’s competition in July. It took four years of therapy for Athens-Clarke officer Courtney Gale to be able to return to the police force after being stabbed in the leg while working security at a Kroger. It's taken more than four juries and a judge to determine whether the man accused of stabbing her, Steven Anthony Eberhart, is fit to face criminal charges. Western Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Lawton Stephens ruled last week that Eberhart, who has been diagnosed with more than one mental illness, is not competent to stand trial, the Athens Banner-Herald reported. Eberhart is now considered in the custody of the state Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, where he is under care in Augusta, the paper reported.
