A Georgia lawmaker thinks it would at least send a message.
WSBTV Channel Two recently reported that Georgia Rep. Paul Battles, a Republican from Bartow County, is proposing that in the absence of an armed school resource officer, the school principal be trained and armed. There would be a cost involved — that of purchasing the guns and training the principals. It wouldn’t, however, be as costly as paying a full-time salary for a school resource officer. We've been inundated with the arguments for and against guns. It's the wrong argument. How do we protect our most precious and vulnerable population against unthinkable violence?

"The gun culture includes those who use the 2nd Amendment as a front, an excuse, for whatever reason they have for justifying their ownership of military-grade weapons." Huh. You mean those that actually know the purpose of the 2nd Amendment? Yep, then we're the 'gun culture' allright. "The gun culture is the subset of society that thinks owning whatever type of gun and ammunition you want to …   more ›
