Click on the links before for details 1. Taking things into his own hands, a Stone Mountain pizza delivery man went after teens who had ordered pizza and wings but refused to pay, even after one of them brandished a gun. The four teens took off running and the delivery man gave chase, grabbing one of the suspects trying to climb over a fence. One of the teens showed the man a handgun and he backed off. Later he chased the group in his car, caught up to them and was told "Bro, you don't want this" while being shown the handgun at one of the suspect's waistline. With the help of the delivery man, DeKalb Police eventually caught up to the suspects. 2. Police found quite an eyeful when they arrived at an Athens-area apartment: a woman dancing …

Strange crime stories in Northeast Georgia, as reported on local Patch sites.

Click on the links below for details. 1. A suspected would-be robber intended to stick up a Johns Creek Panera while an employee was working alone one early morning. A Lilburn homeowner told police he was upset about his escalating water bills that he chose another route to fill his pool. He attached a green garden hose to a fire hydrant nearby and ran it back to the pool. He had two feet of water in the pool before police arrived. In case you don’t know, it’s against the law to do this. 3. Somebody tried to steal an ATM machine located inside a Norcross-…

Weird Police Stories: Spitting, Kicking and Personal Space

Unusual police reports from Patch sites in Northeast Georgia.

Click on the links below for details 1. Usually when rock hits glass, the rock is the winner. But a couple of burglary suspects found that wasn’t the case when they tried to smash through a window at a Stone Mountain-area veterinary clinic. Surveillance video showed the men used a boulder they brought with them to break the glass. "However they had no luck," according to the police report. The rock only broke one pane of the double-paned window. The video showed them give up and drive away. 2. Winder Police say one of two women suspected of shoplifting at two stores admitted that she hid a stolen toothbrush in her bra. Further investigation found the women had shoplifted around $50 worth of goods from Dollar General and Fred’s. They …

Unusual police stories from Northeast Georgia.

Police responded after the woman resident called 911 to report seeing a man peering into her upstairs bedroom. The man fled, but police found the ladder he used leaning up against the house. The ladder ended up being stolen from a neighbor’s yard a week before the incident. 2. You know a relationship is over when an ex uses bleach in anger. Two such incidents were reported recently in the Norcross area. One involved an ex-boyfriend, who doused his former girlfriend’s clothes and other belongings with bleach. Weird Police News: Road Rage, Waffle House Gripes and Taken By the Cleaners

A roundup of unusual cop stories from Northeast Georgia.

Click on the links for more details 1. A Stone Mountain-area man was taken to the cleaners by a bogus dry-cleaning business earlier this month (sorry, we couldn’t resist). The man responded to a special of “11 pieces for only $18.95,” according to the police report. He dropped off the clothes and paid the money, but when he returned to pick up his clothes six days later the building was deserted. 2. Really? Stealing paint? Home improvement must be pretty expensive. A Lawrenceville man was arrested on felony shoplifting charges after he was caught trying to steal several five-gallon cans of paint from a Johns Creek Home Depot. Apparently, he tried to wheel the paint out of the store in one of those shopping wagons when he was stopped by the…

Weird Police News: Salacious Behavior and Other Odd Stuff

Unusual police stories from Northeast Georgia.

Click on the links below for more details 1. Apparently, Johns Creek has a serial leaker. Cops responded to a report of a man relieving himself behind a restaurant, and when they approached him, they recognized him from similar past incidents. The man told police he didn’t want to “go in his pants.”  2. Athens police arrested a man and woman for taking their public display of affection way too far. Answering a call about indecent exposure, police found the woman baring her breasts and the man … well … stimulated by what he saw (if you know what we mean). 3. An uncle and his gender-changing nephew were found behind a Peachtree Corners-area business up to some salacious stuff. Weird Police News: Weed Cover-Up, Beer Logic and More

Unusual police stories from Northeast Georgia.

Click on the links below for more details 1. When will stoners ever learn? Using air freshener to cover up the smell of weed never works. A Gwinnett County Police officer making a traffic stop on I-85 smelled overwhelming odors of marijuana and air freshener coming from a rental car driven by a Stone Mountain woman, with a South Carolina man in the passenger seat. The officer wrote in his report: “I noticed there were two clip-on air fresheners stuck inside the air vents. This stood out to me because this was an Enterprise rental car and the average motoring public does not add air fresheners to a rental car.” The officer later found a UPS box with a PlayStation 3 box inside. Inside that box were three pounds of pot. 2. When a man was …

Weird Police News: Found Leg, Pepper Spray and Much More

Unusual police stories from Northeast Georgia.

Follow the links for more details. 1. The case of the missing leg has been solved. We wrote in last week’s Weird Police News about a child-sized prosthetic found along side a road in Watkinsville that had police wondering what to do to find the owner. Thursday, the mother of the 6-year-old who wears the prosthesis picked it up at the police station. Apparently, the leg — a right leg painted black and adorned with planets and stars — may have fallen off the roof while the car was moving. Mom said the prosthesis was missing the shoe. 2. Apparently defending the honor of his wife, a Dacula man was pepper-sprayed in the face by a man who said he only had a “mutual conversation” with the woman. The victim confronted the man at Little Mulberry …

Weird Police News: Lost Shoe, Found Woman and More

Unusual police stories from Northeast Georgia.

Click on the links for more details. An Athens woman on the run after a traffic stop lost a shoe in the process. It wasn't Prince Charming, but rather Oconee County Sheriff's deputies, who found her sandal and then later the woman. She was hiding in the nearby woods, covered in leaves and sticks. She faces several charges, including fleeing an officer, and a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance also was found in the car. Umm, did this man really think this would work? An Athens man was arrested for trying to sell $4,000 worth of stolen air pumps back to the business from which they were stolen. He offered this great deal: $50 for each of the six pumps reported stolen from a Watkinsville job site. When the man drove to …
