Potter's House is Moving Farther Out Prince to Homewood Hills in Athens, Ga.

The popular thrift store is moving to make way for Emmanuel Episcopal's expansion.

  After more than 15 years of operating in a former grocery store at Prince Avenue and Barber Street, the Potter's House Thrift Store is moving to Homewood Hills Shopping Center into what was once a Dollar General store. The lease was finalized in early January, said Shana Daniels, who works for the Atlanta Mission as a district manager for the seven thrift stores. In metro Athens, that larger organization runs the thrift shop and a recovery center in Jefferson for men who are homeless because of addiction. The thrift store helps support the efforts of the Mission to raise people out of homelessness and transform their lives. The store will be moving in March, Daniels said.
