UPDATE: Athens Police Looking for Burglary Suspect

A search was conducted in the area of Luke Road in Bogart, Ga.

Authorities Wednesday afternoon were searching a section of Bogart for a suspect originally thought to have been involved in a home invasion. Athens-Clarke County Police later clarified, according to the Athens Banner-Herald, that a man kicked in a door to a residence in the area of Luke Road off of Fowler Mill Road, realized someone was home, and ran. Hilda Sorrow, ACCPD public information assistant, said a resident of the home had been sleeping around 1:10 p.m. when he heard a noise. The resident awoke to find a man standing in the hallway, so he grabbed a handgun and pointed it at the intruder, Sorrow said. Upon seeing the victim and the gun, the man fled.
