When possible, support your local businesses on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
Feeling a little hungry after all that shopping? Head to Agora on Friday afternoon. In addition to great deals and discounts, they will be hosting a Black Friday Party, with champagne and cookies, from 2 to 5pm on Friday. Also on Clayton Street, at Native America Gallery, Santa will be stopping from 10am until 7pm and hearing what's on the minds of children of all ages. So while Santa is getting the toy list straightened out, you can wander around the store, making your own wish list. Be sure to ask for the "made in America" jewelry, which will knock your Crocs off. All of our items are uniquely created by artisans and craftspeople in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Swaziland, Niger and Senegal. Every year there is an increased drive to get shoppers into stores. Black Friday now gets an early start on Thanksgiving Thursday, Buy Local campaigns push Small Business Saturday shopping and technology and social media sites encourage Cyber Monday logins. The message is clear - shop early and shop often. So what is your shopping style for the holidays? Will you be shopping off your Thanksgiving meal on Thursday or Friday, supporting the small businesses in your area on Saturday or is the computer your preferred shopping mall on Cyber Monday?
