Athens Artist Stacey-Marie Piotrowski Hit on Bicycle by Drunk Driver in Athens, Ga.
The Pittsburgh, Pa., native is a 2012 graduate of the Lamar Dodd School of Art in photography.
She was riding her bicycle on Talmadge Drive at 10:30 Wednesday night. A Ford Ranger truck turned into her path and hit her and she flew over the hood, hitting her head on the windshield and sustaining a concussion as well as broken bones. Now, Stacey-Marie Piotrowski, 28, is lying in a hospital bed with internal injuries and pickup driver Matthew Bryan Andrews, 29, faces a possible felony charge on top of two misdemeanor charges for DUI and failure to yield, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald and a news release from the Athens Clarke County Police.
