Gonorrhea on Steroids? CDC Says Infection is Resistant to Antibiotics

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is telling people to practice safe sex.

  Gonorrhea is the second most commonly reported infectious disease in the United States. And the CDC says Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the bacteria that causes the sexually transmitted infection gonorrhea, has become resistant to many forms of antibiotics since the 1930s.  According to an ABC News report, the bacteria continues to trouble disease experts as it morphs into strains that scientists call “multidrug-resistant gonorrhea.” Ensure your long weekend doesn't turn into a nightmare by checking out the CDC's page dedicated to pregnancy, HIV, viral Hepatitis and STD prevention.
