I live in the City of Decatur with my husband, Roger, and two teenage children, Michelle and Daniel. I'm a native of New Orleans and spent four decades as a journalist, including for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Associated Press, the New Orleans Times-Picayune and Atlanta Parent magazine. I received an M.A. in journalism from the University of Missouri, where I was a fellow of the Science Journalism Center. I teach writing and oral communication at the Interactive College of Technology in Chamblee, Ga. I volunteer and actively participate in the Decatur High School Community Garden, my neighborhood association, Girl Scouts, and local Decatur events. I loves bicycling, crafts and do-it-yourself projects.
