Kandy came to fitness and health education through a long, circuitous path. She has a Ph.D. in Horticulture, worked in Research and Development and Regulatory Affairs for plant and animal product companies in the U.S. and Europe. She spent some time at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia serving as the Volunteer Coordinator. Since 2001 Kandy has taught various exercise modalites including Pilates, yoga, water aerobics, Yamuna body rolling, and strength training. She is also a Healing Touch Practitioner. Kandy spends her time offering private sessions and teaches group classes and workshops.
