Title: Registered Nurse 

Department: OPERATING ROOM (660)

Summary: A qualified registered professional nurse who primarily provides direct and indirect patient care through the application of the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating care rendered. This practitioner guides and supervises assigned nursing personnel, collaborates with other health care professionals, coordinates ancillary staff, functions within the guidelines of the policies and procedures of the department and institution, as well as within the legal framework of the state. Demonstrates professional growth and accountability. Provides direct patient care for patients ages infant through geriatric. (44484)

Hours: FULL TIME Monday thru Friday hours 11p-7a 40 Hours 

Skills: 1. Demonstrated leadership ability and interest in developing management skills. 2. Ability to work with and direct others in the care of patients experiencing surgical intervention within a stressful environment by setting priorities, making decisions and delivering appropriate care. 3. Thorough knowledge of unit policies, procedures and standards of patient care and operative procedures performed on this unit with the ability to assist other members and physicians. 4. Maintenance of current knowledge base with willingness to continuously update proficiency skills related to the care and support of patients normally cared for on the assigned unit. 5. Demonstrates advanced knowledge in specialty represented and acts as an O.R. resource.

Experience: Graduate of an NLN approved nursing school and passed the NCLEX exam.

Access Counselor IPATIENT ACCESS (920)
Title: Access Counselor I 

Department: PATIENT ACCESS (920)

Summary: Responsible for retrieving patient demographic information, by accurately completing the registration process of all patients received in Patient Access. (TalmadgeTower Registration, Emergency Room Registration, and/or Decentralized sites) Assembles patient chart, prints forms and labels to distribute to appropriate departments. Collects insurance information for verification purposes for correct patient billing and upfront collections. Accurately documents important patient information in Optimum in a timely manner. Accurately updates insurance in the payor section on all payors. This job also involves extensive utilization of hospital systems and constant interaction with patients, physician office staff, and other organizational departments. This job is responsible for assisting with collecting upfront co-payments and/or deductibles due at the time of service. This job will also complete all patient payments in Optimum with documentation. Must be able to set up counseling for financial assistance. This job will be responsible for monitoring the department logs: i.e. ED sign in log, Talmadge Tower sign in log, OPSC sign in log, ENDO sign in log, and L&D sign in log. This job will be responsible for monitoring departmental workques to ensure all accounts are billed accurately and timely. (45542)

Hours: FULL TIME M-F 11p-730a 40 Hours 

Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, excellent customer service skills, general office skills, and the ability to successfully discuss finances with hospitalized customers. Must be able to type 25 - 30 wpm. Professional problem resolution skills. Must be able to interact with physicians, nurses, internal and external customers and other staff with integrity, professional confidence, and respect. CHAA within 2 years of hire.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of front line customer service experience. With one year of computer data entry and up front patient collection experience. A basic knowledge of medical insurance, customer service, medical office, retail, financial or hospitality experience is a plus.

Public Safety OfficerSECURITY (842)
Title: Public Safety Officer 

Department: SECURITY (842)

Summary: Greet visitors, patients and staff as they enter the facility. Provide basic customer service including providing directions and escorts to visitors and patients. Maintain proper traffic flow within designated areas. Enforce all related policies as a designated agent of the hospital. Performs other security related duties as assigned. (44278)

Hours: TEMPORARY - Monday through Sunday 9 pm to 5 am 36 Hours 

Skills: Capable of demonstrating basic literacy and satisfactory interpersonal communication skills. Communicate traffic rules and other information to visitors and patients. Direct or escort visitors and patients. Direct traffic movement or warn of hazards, using signs, flags, lanterns, and hand signals. Discuss traffic routing plans and control point locations with superiors. Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points. Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites. Monitor traffic flow. Be able to respond appropriately to aggressive behavior and apply physical restraints, if necessary. Physically fit, strong, public/human relations skills, able to cope with stress and emergency situations.

Experience: Two years of customer relations experience in a public or corporate environment. Other security, customer relations, or public service experience considered.
