Man Wags Penis at Women, Gets Arrested

A man who had been banned from an apartment complex returned to it and was arrested for alleged inappropriate behavior.

Allegedly shaking his penis at several poolside women in a Westside apartment complex led to the arrest of a naked Athens man who had been banned from the complex earlier this year.

According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, on Tuesday night Clifford Eric Atkinson, 29, made lewd remarks to several women and wagged his penis at them from a parking lot. They were at the pool of The Preserve of Athens off Mitchell Bridge Road.

When a police officer arrived, Atkinson had his hands in the air. The story says he made a lewd suggestion to the officer, who eventually had to bring the man to the ground. He was unruly and had to be placed in leg restraints before being taken to Athens Regional Hospital to be evaluated.

The newspaper story says Atkinson was released from the hospital and then charged with five counts of public indecency, one for each woman at whom he shook his penis, police said. He also was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and criminal trespass.

He had told the officer that he had ingested crack, mushrooms and "slap a hoe," the story says.
